What You Need to Know
Per registration/renewal of your Irish Residence Permit.
Up to 40 hours/week during official holiday periods, on a Stamp 2 visa.
Master's/PhD (Level 9/10) graduates get 12 months plus a 12-month renewal.
Stamp 2 & the Third Level Graduate Programme
- IRP Registration, €300Per Immigration Service Delivery (ISD), Department of Justice, Home Affairs and Migration.
- Part-Time Work, Stamp 220 hours/week during term, up to 40 hours/week during official college holidays.
- Graduate Programme (Stamp 1G)Bachelor's (Level 8): up to 12 months. Master's/Doctoral (Level 9/10): up to 24 months, via an initial 12 months plus a 12-month renewal.
- Eligibility WindowMust apply within 6 months of results, and your programme must be on the Interim List of Eligible Programmes (ILEP).
Student years don't count toward PR
Time spent on a Stamp 2 or Stamp 1G does not count toward permanent residency. But if you secure a role meeting the salary threshold, a Critical Skills Employment Permit is a faster PR pathway.

Only programmes on the official Interim List of Eligible Programmes qualify for the Stamp 1G graduate work route. Check this before finalizing your university choice.
