English Proficiency Tests

IELTS, TOEFL & PTE

These three tests are not interchangeable everywhere, acceptance varies by country and by specific university. We check this before recommending which one to prepare for.

IELTS
Band 0–9

About 2 hours 45 minutes. Speaking is a live interview with a trained examiner. Results in 1–13 days depending on format. Preferred in the UK, Australia, and New Zealand.

TOEFL
Scored /120

Widely accepted in the US and Canada. Fully computer-delivered, including the speaking section.

PTE Academic
Score 10–90

About 2 hours, entirely computer-scored including speaking. Results often within 48 hours, the fastest turnaround of the three. Accepted by 3,000+ universities and for Australian, UK, and New Zealand visa applications.

Good to know: PTE Academic Online is not currently accepted for visa applications, only the standard test-center version is. If your test is for a visa (not just admission), confirm you're booking the correct version.
Graduate Admissions Tests

GRE & GMAT

GRE General Test
260–340

Verbal and Quantitative sections scored 130–170 each. Accepted by virtually every MBA program globally, including all M7 business schools, as well as most non-business Master's programs.

GMAT Focus Edition
205–805

Replaced the classic GMAT in November 2023. Three sections, Quantitative Reasoning, Verbal Reasoning, and Data Insights, each scored 60–90. About 2 hours 15 minutes. Scores valid for 5 years.

Which One Should You Take?

GRE vs. GMAT for MBA Applications

  • Choose GMAT ifyou're applying only to MBA or business-focused Master's programs and want the exam admissions committees see as the traditional business-path signal.
  • Choose GRE ifyou're considering both an MBA and a non-business Master's (public policy, economics, engineering), since it's accepted more broadly across program types.
Not a Direct Comparison

GRE and GMAT scores don't convert 1:1

The two tests use completely different scales, and no official GRE-to-GMAT-Focus conversion exists yet. Unofficial conversion tools exist, but treat them as rough estimates only, not a guarantee of how a specific program will read your score.

How We Help

A Study Plan Built Around Your Intake

Test prep only helps if it's timed against your actual application deadlines.

Test Selection

We check which test your target universities and visa route actually require, before you commit weeks of prep to the wrong one.

Diagnostic & Target Score

A baseline test tells us where you're starting from, so your prep plan is built around a realistic score gap, not guesswork.

Timed to Your Intake

Your study schedule works backward from your application deadline, not forward from an arbitrary start date.
